I love the bar and used it over 2 years. I thought it was a good idea to get a refresh kit. It is has been a nightmare dealing with back and forth. It is not the fault of the customer service as they went beyond to make it right. There has been an update to the elastomers supplier. I tried a few of them supplied yellow. I followed the instructions and had to wedge the yellow ones as they are bigger. It seems like the right side worked, and the left side is not flush to the bar and the yellow washer has indented trying to force that elastomer in. The titanium screw that came with the refresh kit now is sightly stripping and avoiding further damage at this point. It should not be this difficult. I appreciate the assistance so far, and I don't how to proceed at this point. Should I mail in the bar for you to inspect. I didn't notice that much difference on the yellow, so perhaps might switch back to the red to see if that works better.
I was using extra soft for maximum bump absorption but my intensity has increased so I’ve swapped to medium and am very happy
I'm disappointed that the original elastomers failed and had to be replaced. While I do enjoy rugged, rocky trails, I'm 80 years old and only weigh 130 lbs so it's hard to believe that I could destroy them.
Hello Dale,
Thank you for your review. Even at your age and weight, the softer elastomers will wear out faster. Blue being the sofest will need to be replaced more often than the red for example. It looks like your Flexx bars are about a year old, which, with normal riding is about how long you should expect the blue elastomers to last. Yearly maintenace on a moving pivot point and elastomers is to be expected. Thank you for your business and please reach out to us directly with any further questions.
